JDM motors with carbs...?

so i live near a shop that gets jdm motor swaps in all the time, and one of the guys there was telling me they always get SOHC VTEC d series motors from japan with dual weber carb setups....

is this stock in japan?
i can't believe that they would run carbs stock or otherwise...
just doesn't make sense, especially considering the cost of gas in japan...

anyone know if this is true or false?

Japan has many carburberated models of Honda. Now the dual webers might be streching it for OEM, but they do have carbed models, at least up till 95.

My '74, '78 and '79 Civic hatches had carbs on them. Not Webers though.

i think JDM ZC's come with carbs, and some of the 92-95 cheapo JDM ferios.

Carbs are cool. I never had a problem with any of mine.

Honda never came with STOCK Webers.....if anything, they would have been Mikuni's...but not webers.....they are purely aftermarket mani's and carbs. Granted...Mugen did make a full Weber mani for the SOHC engines, but also made it to where Mikuni's and solex'es could also bolt up as well.
