I'm still at my first job, but I'm only 19. I started at the pool at my high school when I was 15. Lifeguard/swimming lessons teacher. I started at $8.74 and now I'm at $10.25. When I graduate from college, my school will place me, and I'l be making something like 50k-60k/year at my entry level.

let people around you know you are looking for a job...

my mom actually met the office manager at my present job in the nail salon, they chatted it up, i got an internship and then a job offer before i went back to college for my senior year...

and drake, if you went to a school then i would advise you to check into their services
just about every school either has a placement program or at least a career services office which will prove very useful in finding a job...

I found K-force to be EXTREMELY annoying when i was working with them a few years ago. they were very pushy, kept trying to put me in crap i repeatedly told them i didn't want to do....

i dunno, maybe it was just my rep...

I am a financial advisor and as part of the job of being a manager i have to recruit. my company spends over $5500 a year in online website fees alone.....

I spend 5-10 hours a week reviewing resumes. Monster has the best process by far. it is reviewed by more employers and has more job offerings. but don't try to search for a job. Posting job listings cost extra. most companies pay to be able to search resumes not post job listings.

so.....post your resume online, at least on monster.com, and have a good resume ready and be ready to work...

Got my current job at VeriSign through my old boss who used to work here. He saw the last job I worked at going under so he put in a good word for me here. Networking at its finest. :)

My first job was bussing tables at Red Robin when I was 16. I was making $4.25 an hour + what ever scraps the waiters would give us bussers as tips. lol

you just don't understand how important your resume headline is....make sure it's good because it is the first thing employers see and then they look at your resume.
