i just finished my gsr swap in my 92 hatch everything went well but when i got it all together and took it for a spin i couldnt get it into reverse. the swap came with a short throw shifter, so i dont know if that has anything to do with it. any info would be helpful. thanks

hmm...look underneath to see if everything is connect and that there is nothing blocking you to go into Reverse.

Try to move the gears around from 1st to Rev., a short shifter most likely wouldn't case that, since it's right in your car, my guess put your old shifter back in and see what happens.
 
thanks man tomoorw i will put the stock one in and see what happens. hopefully thats it. or maybe it just getting a little crossed up. thanks again

sounds like the linkage is backwards or crossed- not the shifter itself. make sure you didn't twist them up
