Nice budget to start out with. Are you wanting to stick with the LS head and boost that (since LS is very boost friendly) or add a bit more of oomph right at the beginning and do an LSVTEC upgrade in order to meet your goals?

Also, I have to ask for my own curiosity, but are you wanting to build up the bottom end at all or just go with your stock internals?

Buy a revhard turbo kit(or something similar), larger injectors, fuel pump and engine management. Get it tuned. That right there is 5k well spent, but as far as getting 320whp, I don't think it will happen. More along the lines of 250whp or so reliably on the stock engine.

It sounds like you have a very good idea of what you want thus far. Building up your head will probably be costly. I am just saying this because of personal experience. I calculated of my head, when totally built, (this is including the cost of the head) to be around $2,000 for everything I want done. This does include springs, retainers, valves, cams, cam gears...etc. etc. and a stage 2 port and polish.

Have you looked at the prices on sleeving though? If you haven't, you may be in for a surprise. However, I do feel that going with sleeves is a very good thing in many ways, especially peace of mind.

How about rods? You will need those if you are getting aftermarket pistons as well.
