I rode my bike to work today and on my way to work, I had a great idea. HMmm why not use the sirius sat radio windshield mount and add some random parts (53c with tax worth) and make a camera mount?

OR I guess I could go to http://www.chasecam.com/mounts-suction.htm and buy one. but Im too cheap so Ill just stick to building one.

From ACE, 1 bolt 5c, 1 nut 5c, 1 washer 10c, a short nylon tube 30c.
The black piece is from the Radio mount.

I can stick the sucker almost anywhere. I had it mounted on the side lower fairing and also on the front fender. It seems to stick great.

The good thing about this is since its so adjustable and is ment to be placed on windows/windshields you can stick it in a car or if you want on the door/hood/roof/hatch, of a car.

What I see most riders do around here is tape one of those bullet cams to their helmets and run the cable to the camcorder in their backpack.

Helmet cams are stupid to use on a bike. if you mount the cam on the bike thats cool but to put it on your helmet it makes for some shity movies.

Keep in mind you look where you turn so you would see the left and right side of the road everytime the guy turns also your body moves from left to right of the bike so you would have so much movment no one could watch it without puking.

haha, good point!

How about mounting the bullet cam on the fairing? I would just think the whole camcorder mounted anywhere on the bike would just be in the way, no?

Fairing is fine I've seen that done. I still like the first person view. I think it gives people an idea of just how fast you're really going as with the lean angles.

this thread makes me love watching all my turbo busa videos. like the one where the guy goes from 100-200mph in about 9seconds.
