So from what I've heard from a good friend, Honda has redeveloped their Manual Transmission Fluid, and it's supposedly better than synchromesh now (from the hearsay). My questions:

A) Is there a new Honda Genuine MTF?
B) Has anyone tried it yet?

I like my synchromesh now, as I've seen DRASTIC improvements over stock fluid. So I really want to find out before trying it myself.

And if my friend is talking out of his ass....LMK. Thanks

I don't know if they redeveloped their MTF but their (old?)MTF worked out a lot better for me than synchromesh. You like your synchromesh so maybe it's all about what the tranny likes, not the drivers lol.

Yeah possibly. For the record, my trans is a Y21 with LSD.

Honda also did re-engineer their coolant, I know for a fact from not long ago.... hmm

Ya thats what ive seen as well. My GF's 06 Civic has a dark almost blue coolant, now that may be or may not be it im just used to the prestone green. Maybe i should get a rad flush from Honda next.

My brother is using their new MTF with no problems; but he doesn't race or anything. From what I hear, it's not as good as the old one. It's lighter and biased towards economy.

All I run is Amsoil or synchromesh-specific fluids.
