You get what you pay for. The quality compared to a reputable name brand unit is usually directly proportional to the cost compared to said name brand unit.

Yeah I'm guessing for cast parts, obx just copies reputable brand's designs. With an intake maniflold, cheap materials and shitty tolerances dont matter as much as in a turbo that goes through some crazy heat cycles, spins incredibly fast, and has to contain oil.

The last time someone I knew tried an ebay turbo, the compressor wheel fell off due to the retaining nut being threaded in the same direction as the compressor spun.

    Look elsewhere.

im with klyph on the get what you pay for idea, especialy when it comes to a turbo. .if it fails it will more than likley ruin the engine behind it. On the other hand i saw OBX's ad for there new turbo line and they look very comperable to the smaller line of garret turbos. I can vouch for their intake manifols though, I had one on my D series and it was nothing like a skunk2 intake, It was a stampt- steal piece that was chrome. I can't say it enhanced performance but it was exceptionaly smoot inside, had shraight runners, and held up under 13 psi of boost with no leaks.( still is as far as I know ) The only beef I had with it was the nuts that came with it were flared and wouldn't fit on the studs due to the larger runners. $2 at ACE hardware fixed that though.

SILVER; I wouldn't exactly class obx turbos with Ebay turbos though. Ebay turbos are the ones you recieve that come glued together ( literally ). OBX does atleast cast theirs

yeah, the obx turbos aren't cheap like ssautochrome or turboxs which cost around $150 for a t3, the obx costs about $425. I am just looking for a turbo that doesn't already have an internal wastegate if i don't have to buy one, and paying $700 for a turbonetics is something I want to avoid if I can
