will an oil pump from a 88-91 si d16a6 go on my 2000 d16y7 motor?
 
so how bout a d16y8 cause im about to rebuild the y7 but i wanna bump the cr up a lil so i guess i will now use a rebuild kit from d16y8 and use my z6 head and p28 ecu.
 
Yes a Y8 pump will work fine; they use the same pumps to begin with.
 
well lemme ask before i waste my money ... i have a slight rod knock ficke after 3k rpm is this motor suitable for a rebuild or are there things im gonna have to do with the block if so what? i just never opened up a motor that was knocking. i just wanna rebuild it while its still running.
