Well folks about 3 months some of you might recall me posting up a request for a database or a list of as many cars as possible from the dawn of time till the present.
Well this is why. http://www.partscrunch.com
Many of you are familiar with pricewatch.com. It's basically a directory of computer parts that online vendors sell. This forces vendors to compete for that top spot and the lowest price for that computer part.
Well me and B were in agreement, why the hell hasn't this been done for car parts. This would be so beneficial for tuners and replacement part buyers alike.
So i spent 5 months building and perfecting this site. The site has 99 % of all cars, trucks, vans and SUV's in from the US from 1935 to present. With about 50% euro and Japanese cars. I must say this right now, it is VERY sparse on car parts right now. It's quite a vicious circle I didn't estimate. Vendors don’t want to sign up for a site that has no users. But users don’t want to go to a part site with no parts. So my solution was I have recruited vendors for free but most of the time it is me adding their parts. Obviously this will change when the site grows.
So in the mean time im counting on you guys to go to the site, browse it for what it is now and tell as many people as you can about it. Anyone can use it free, if you sign up (which is also free) you get a lot more features which is listed below. By doing this you are only helping yourself and fellow tuners because if this becomes a standard like price watch did, it will force lower prices of car parts.
Aside from that i am offering 20 dollars CASH to anyone who refers a vendor that signs up for a year (79 bucks, which in most cases will barely get you 2 months of advertising on major car sites).
Also if anyone belongs to other forums, could you please drop them a line and suggest they support us. We're providing links and advertising for boards that pitch us to their members.
Thanks to Brian for offering up his full support in trying to get this project off the ground.
So there it is guys, keep browsing keep looking and i want to thank you guys in advance.
Mods/Admins please do what you will with this post (OKed by B ) to maximize exposure
