What is the difference? I'm kinda new to actually using Ebay for purchases.

I was wondering which method is better, and which is safer.. just some opinions from current users of both methods will do. :D

Well, if it's something you can pick up and inspect your product and then pay. pay normally, if its something that needs to be shipped pay with paypal. If there is a problem with your product you have your resources and paypals' resources to make it right.

Paypal can be helpful. I've never really had a case where they weren't able to do something. I've been ripped off a few times, and Paypal has always covered my ass.

Paying straight through with a Debit card sucks though. Once your money is gone, its gone.

    Yeah I get that, B.
It was easy.. I'm not so sure yet about the 'online merchant' idea yet...
I always hear how people get ripped off, so I'm just being wary of it.

I think it's nice that it can track shipments.^_^

the easiest thing to do to not get ripped off...

is to don't buy from anyone with under 100 positives, and 99.5% or higher feedback (because there will always be ;that guy; you can't expect 100%

the company i bought from had 99.6 feedback rating... it was buy.com have you heard of it? ebay says its one of their partners, and they've been around on the interweb for like ten years.. i'm sure i'll be alright though. ;)

    *knocks on wood once again*
