I just need bigger pedals... gas and brake need to be a little bit closer together.

I had the same gripe about my AllTrac. I took the pedal box out and heated the brake pdal arm with a torch, and bent it over towards the gas pedal by about 1/2". Biggest difference in the world. :)

This is the exact idea that popped in my head.

Calesta, any machine shop could cut, twist, remanufacture, you name it.

If you seriously just want bigger pads, I'd have a shop weld a little more metal to the brake, and use some of that 3m tread tape.

Yeah, I know they can do it- it's just not that big of a priority right now. It's not like it's a hard problem to solve. :)

Ah, I need a torch before I can do that. :) I more want to extend the pedal rather than move the whole thing though.

Then cut, add material, and weld. :) If you don't have a welder either, come on up to VT and we'll take care of ya.

what grid is the sandpaper??

wouldn't you have to replace them every couple months or so?
[post=396994]Quoted post[/post]

It's grip tape for a skateboard, and no, you never have to replace it.
[post=396999]Quoted post[/post]

Umm, i used to skateboard, and yes - you do replace grip tape.

But, seeing as how the tape is going on your petals, you may never need to but it will wear down over time and loose its grit. . . it may even become slippery when all the grip is gone from it.

Was the question I was answering asking about replacing it when used on a skateboard? But hey, what do I know? I only drove around with that shit for three years without it wearing out.

No welder, no torch. Not for long though. :) VT is a long way to come just to modify some pedals though! :p

The gas pedal is much easier to bend than the brake :p Seriously, you can tweak it by hand if need be.

Yeah, but you'd know they'd be done right, and you'd get the esteemed honor of meeting me and hitting Rt. 17.
