So I got raped on H-T posting this which was no surprise at all to me. I have had a hiatus from Hondaswap and have been spending a lot of time on H-T but I realized its time to go back to my roots and where the people always treated me fair even though H-T seems to get more traffic for selling shit I think I will post my new build on here once it begins. LS vtec is basically getting torn down after years of quality service to me and I'm replacing it with a gsr block and my old gsr head from the lsvtec. GSR block has usdm itr pistons but I will show all that once i start a build thread.

    Whats up old friends?

What do you guys think? Just a street port and polish and valve job, new bronze guides, new valve seals, supertech flat race valves, supertech retainers alum., supertech dual valve springs, new style lma's. I spent $692 total including new guides and seals, porting and polishing, recon etc. Supertech stuff obviously wasnt included in the $692.

I will have a build thread again like my lsvtec one I did years ago thats in my sig.

hopefully flame wars will not happen here. yes the cam journals are mediablasted a bit but i dont think its really as much of an issue as people make it, i have all new parts going into the head and im sure with oil and plenty of moly lube it wont be an issue, i dont think the guy sat there and aimed at the journals directly for 5 mins and removed tons of material.. FYI going with BLOX B competition cams.

yup i sure will, i havent ordered them yet but will be soon. i have re-searched for a while for cams to fit my needs and i think those will do it. i like the fact they have a wider lobe for more contact on the rocker arm than say the tuner series cams that are out their. buying new rocker arms is not something i want to be doing because of small wear spots like most rocker arms have so if my thinking is correct it will hit the outside that isnt worn if you know what i mean.

thanks for the welcome back.....some people liked me some didn't lol

can you "see" the lobe wear with a straightedge?

sucks that hondas dont come with roller rockers.

I don't really remember you.. But that's a pretty clean-looking head. Why would people be flaming you off of honda-tech? I mean other than the fact that the site is kind of a cesspool in some respects.

well i posted in all motor figuring it was relevant and not just pictures, thought i would get some good feedback but just got hate. the rockers have some wear but not too bad. i can feel it though by finger which worried me a little just on the primary lobes but i guess its not a huge issue. not super deep or anything.

Looks good! I'm looking forward to see what kind of numbers it'll put down.

Roller rockers have smaller radii than the rocker pads so you can't run as-aggressive ramp rates; and pads can be set up for variable rocker ratio. There's always pros and cons.

BTW, some of the D-series had roller rockers too.

Actually let me go take some quick snaps of my concerns on the rockers and get your opinions. i can barely catch the edge with my finger but there is wear i can feel.

That's a ridge in the casting, not a crack.

And no, B hasn't sold the site (that I know of).
