possible short?

hey guys, i believe my car has a short, when i turn it on the brake lights flicker and also the battery dies when the car is just sitting there so i'm assuming there is a short circuit which is draining power from the battery and causing the brake lights to flicker....so any sugestions on where the short is?is this a common problem
 
I don't think it's a common problem. There is definitely a short somewhere. I'd take it to a shop that has the snap-on power probe short circuit locator. I personally own one of these and I use it all the time to find shorts. If you were close to MD, i'd look at it for you.
