The reverse gear in my stock 1990 ls teg is grinding everytime i try and put it in there without putting it in another gear first. Say i put it into any other gear first and than reverse, than it is fine. But if i step on the clutch and go straight for reverse it grinds. Is this a problem or what?

Can it be fixed? I have a similar fault in a newly overhauled Y1 lsd tranny. I can travel up the gears no problem even at speed but when I come back down them as you do when slowing for a junction, I can't get 3rd. It's like I haven't quite made the gear lever full throw, so that when you take the foot off the clutch and add power it slips out and makes a horrible whirring sound.

I'm going to adjust my clutch cable tonight to double check it but should I be speaking to the people who did my overhaul?
