Problem with Gen 3 projectors

Hello,

I have the Gen 3 projectors installed on my 97 honda civic. My drivers side bulb burnt out and needs replacing. At the moment I can't replace the bulb because there is a vertical piece of metal preventing me from removing the cap and removing the bulb. My question is can the vertical piece of metal be removed or get cut off, so I dont have to remove the bumper everything the light burns out? I wanted to know if removing the metal will damage the car in anyway? Is there a purpose for the vertical metal. Thanks for the help.

I believe the Manufacture is Tuned by Matrix

I believe the bar pops out, and is what holds the bulb in place. On my old projectors there were 2 thow that went across the back of the bulb and snapped in. They were tough to get out too.
