Question about a gauge cluster..

I have a 93 dx I'm putting the finishing touches on my d15b vtec swap. But since it's a dx the cluster doesn't include a tach so...

If I put in a ex or si cluster with a tach will the tach work if I just plug in the cluster? Or does it need to be wired up?

The tach will function 100%. Just plug it all in and your good to go.
