Ok i recently did a h22 swap into my 4th gen and its been runing like shit drove it for 300 + - miles and i finally got it to a performance shop

i was too tired of trying to fix all the problems
my vtec wasnt working i had idling problems
    they fixed all the problem
    bad timing
    valve adjustment
    bad wiring
    bad vacuum hoses
    suspension was hooked up wrong
IACV was outa wack because of the thermastat
    etc

(i had 2 of my friends help me and one of them fucked everything up)
    i was running hella rich

i did a oil change on the motor once the motor was in with synthetic 10-30
since the car was running so bad the oil got blacker then black and they said it looks liek it hasnt been changed for 10k+ miles its sludgy and all that
would that cause vtec not to work since it works off oil?

    possible.

there is a vtec oil pressure solenoid. if you werent making enough oil pressue, it would let you hit vtec

ok they got vtec to crack
but it does the total opposite of what its supposed to do
when vtec engages its supposed to make you go faster....but in my case it bogs the car
they had 4 other appointments so they couldnt work on it anymore today
anyone know why it would do this?

a clogged screen, port, oil pickup, or a bad pump.

Try cleaning the screen for the VTEC solenoid.

the shop ran a crap load of tests and determined that the oil line to the vtec solenoid is clogged
only 2 psi is getting through

did you refresh the engine before you installed it.....have them replace the oil/water pump....and run some seafoam...

hopefully the people fixing the car know more than your friends
