Recomended engine swap for 1991 civic hatchback

    Just got this car needs a motor. New to all this looking for the best choice for performance and money. New to all this please help.

    ive got around 6000 i can spend and as much as possible

    well i would prolly put a b18c in there. that will get you perty good torque and hp and be within the price range

    or dump 6k into your current engine and blow most cars away...on the street that is.

    Pardon me, but is the B18c the USDM GSR motor with 170 HP?

    Kind of. That motor specifically is the B18C1. There are many other variants of the B18C out there...

    I would do something a little more modest. Like a D16Z6, put some of the extra cash toward a wideband O2 and dyno tuning you'll have cash for suspension upgrades. -or- LS/Vtec

    B18C1 = US GS-R
    B18C5 = US Type R
    B18C = Any JDM B18C, could be GS-R, SiR-G, Type R, etc.

    I'd go with a B20 with a B18 head ontop then again im nuts lol!

    i would go with the 98 spec type R b18c and get the lsd trans to go wit it...final drive is lil bigger for better gas miles..and should be close to 3500 for a good setup and you will be please with it if this is one of your first swaps wit good power and reliable
