Would this be in comsetics? If so, please move. Thank You.

Alright I have 7-spoke Miata wheels and they were painted a greyish "wet concrete" color when I bought them. One of the wheels had bad curb rash, so I was going to repair it with JB Weld and repaint the wheels.

Well, I sprayed aircraft paint stripper all over the wheel, went to sleep. When I woke up, I sprayed the wheel with the hose(set the gun thingy on sharp stream), and found out my wheels were actually polished alloy. When they painted it, it looks like they didn't sand it. It's still shiny and everything. Question is, should I keep it chrome and send it off to repair? Or should I go ahead and repair it myself and paint it black(my original intention)?

If I do polished lip, I would have to paint it that chrome color unless JB weld can be polished.
