I've used two different cheap brands on trucks, the better of the two was Plasticote brand. The other was Duplicolor I believe, I don't remember because I hated it...it had no "texture" to it at all and thats what I wanted it for. The Plasticote brand is really pretty rough so thats my choice, plus its cheap.

I've painted over the Plasticote brand stuff with enamel paint and it seems to be working just fine. I'm sure that Rhino liner and most all the bedliners can be painted over, it should say on your can if you can paint it.

If you have it completely stripped down to nothing BUT the shell. I might do it on the under side, maybe no so much the interior though.

I know with the spray on liner from some shops, you can tint the material before it is sprayed to have it be whatever color you want. Don't know if that is an option for you, or if there is a shop near you that offers that service, but it might be worth looking into if it is going to be something that you hold on to for a while.

I've seen people spray their fuel tanks on their big rigs to keep rocks, sand, salt, etc. from eating away at the finish or damaging their tanks. It took a couple times of seeing it to get used to, but I suppose it serves its purpose in the long run.

No, I used the smooth liner on one truck and the rough on another. Its not that the Duplicolor was bad, just not the rough texture I wanted. I used some of the Duplicolor on my bumper on my Durango and liked it on that. It really depends on what you want it to look like and the use of the surface. The rough texture will probably be a little more durable but much harder to clean if thats an issue.

Yeah, i searched Rhino liner to see if i could find like ghetto sprayed cars with it for laughs, but came across that instead. I even saw some engine bays in black, really clean too.
