rmoving chips

i picked up a p28 from the junkyard the other day. i put it in my car with the jumperharness and it idles like shit. the idle surges and i have a cel. sooo then i tried a obd1 gsr computer and it started and ran fine. (NO i did not drive it on the ecu i know what would of happened boom. anywyas. i opend the p28 up and its fucken chipped alredy. my question is can i remove the chip, then have it re chipped?

are you sure its chipped..and not just the oem chip??
you can remove it and have it rechipped..when you do i would have a ZIF socket installed so you dont have to go through the process of desoldering and resoldering again

or if you only want to run stock just cut the j1 jumper wire its located on the side of the 28 pin chip
