I got a D16Z6 that I am putting into my 98 Civic thats got the D16Y7. Besides getting a new P28 ecu (dont wanna reprogram the old one) and getting a jumper from 0BD2 to 0BD1 and wiring the vtec what else is needed. I was told somethin bout a re-wire kit...is that just goin from 0BD2 to 0BD1?

Sounds pretty good! You are going to have to re-use your Y7 distributor, injectors and altenator so they match up with the plugs on your wiring harness but everything should be good after that.
