Well I was reading around on the internet and I found somthing very interesting. First off go through this list and see if you own any of these cd's and have ripped them to your computer. (click link)

If you have answered yes then you might want to do some research your self on this matter. It seems that Sony has demed it okay to install "rootkits" on your personal computer if you decide you want to rip your cd to your computer. Apparently this rootkit does not show up under system processes, add/remove programs and it also changes file names to mimic legit files. Virus scanners also have not been updated to detect it yet either. It dosnt stop there though, even if you do uncloak it and you try and remove it you will more then likly have a system failier. It embeds it self that far into the OS.

I realize that there are about 10 people in the country that still buy CD's but this should cause some alarm espically if Sony is allowed to keep going with this project imagine what could happen next.... Give an inch they take a mile. Here are a few links to the issue at hand. Just wanted to get other's opinions and feelings on this.

Damn i think they finally found a way to stop unauthorized copying of at least their labeled music...

That is until someone smarter creates a blocker for it, lol...

check the news gentlemen, sony has stopped doing this as of recently, so don't buy any of their cds for a while.

I wonder if it transfers with mp3 files or it if it installs separately.

I think it isntalls off of the CD alone. But they probably have a way of tracking the transfer of there music. The way I understand it they havnt really stopped it completly they have just suspended the use of it. Once they get the decision from the court that will likly decide wether or not they keep using it or not.
