Spacer Plates

I read in an issue of Sport Compact Car Magazine of HPA Motorsports Audi TT Twin Turbo kit and one of the unique items it included was a Spacer Plate that sandwiches itself between the block and the head and it lowered compression from 10.0:1 to 7.0:1. What i want to know is there any Spacer Plates or places where a Spacer Plate can be fabricated for a B18B engine?
