Ok, I'm being told by a few resources that I need to go through the whole SRS light reset procedure before using a timing light to check my ignition timing. The only thing is none of these manuals tell me whether or not it's mandatory if the SRS light isn't on.

So, that's my question for you guys. Is it mandatory to go through the SRS light resetting process before using a timing light if your SRS light is not on?
