Well after recently reinstalling windows cause there was so much shit on there that was slowing it down, it looks like there is some new spyware shit on here. It keeps changing my homepage to some porn shit. Now since i got it, my computer is running so fucking slow i cant stand it. If this was actually my comp and not my GF's, i woud throw the POS out the window, off the balcony.

This stupid thing is so slow that when i scroll down a page it has to periodically stop and load for like 5 seconds. AHHH!!

Oh and AdAware didnt work for me . Anyone know a better soution?

I dont got a prob with pop-ups cause i downloaded windows toolbar and that shit works good to stop them
 
spyware are programs that get put on your comp when you visit certain sites. they basically can record what kinds of site you look at and other statistical shit, mostly for advertising purposes. usually they also cause you to get tons of popups and have your homepage changed, which is probably the most annoying. especially when my girl goes on IE, and now sees a porn site pop up as the home page.

Oh and I'm running XP also, that doesnt make you immune from it jsut cause it supposedly has a firewall. thats bullshit.
 
how much important stuff do you have on your computer? just re-install windows and re-format your hard drive and stop visiting porn sites. that goes for your g/f too.

1) XP won't get rid of your spyware.
2) if you were told you have tons, you now have more.

Yeah I'm also running XP (not Pro edition) & I had a TON of spyware on my computer. I now have SpySubtract from Intermute. It works great.

But I gotta tell you, I still have problems with viruses. I have Norton Antivirus, SpySubtract, & two firewalls. My computer was doing funny things, so I ran a TrendMicro scan & found 7 viruses!!! One of the one's that takes advantage of the weaknesses in IE6. I deleted them & it appears to be ok now, but I'm sure within a month, I'll have some other kind of virus. :angry:
