I just recently bought a 91 HF for 1500... even tho it ran when i had it, the tranny now has a scracthing noise and pops out of 2nd gear when i let off the accelerater... knownig this wasn't me i was happy to find out i had a valid reason to swap engines... atleast for me.. I am wanting to swap this for a b16a1 dohc v-tech.. I know that i need custom motor mounts and a linking cable but what else will i need to buy seperate from the engine and tranny.... the engine comes with all outside accessories but anything special needed?

lots o shit

search around here, and elsewhere

check hasport.com for mounts and other things they offer for your swap to get a better idea

Do a search, this has been covered hundrends of times on this site.

Swapping into an HF is exactly the same as swapping into an Si, except that you will need 89-91 CRX Si/Dx front Hubs or 89-91 Civic EX Sedan front hubs, or 90-91 integra front hubs. (I have the teg hubs and they don't screw with the camber much, however, my car isn't lowered, so I don't know how that will affect it. If at all possible go for the civic/crx hubs instead of the larger integra ones.) Also, if you use teg hubs, your stock rims will NOT, i repeate, WILL NOT, fit on them. Neither will HX rims without some modification. I'm running Golf 14's but most 14"+ wheels will work.

not sure, but don;t the larger teg hubs come with larger front disks? which is why your stock rims won;t fit?

so if you need to change it anyway why not get a brake upgrade?

Because some people say it fucks your camber. My tires do wear REALLY bad, but I havent had the car alligned since I did the swap.

But yes, the brakes are bigger.

tips:
-remove the radiator, bumper, and radiator support, it makes the swap WAY easier.
-Put all your bolts in baggies so you don't lose them and forget where they go.
-Use quality components, you car will only last as long as the parts in it. Use hasport mounts, they are undeniably the best. Also, look to hmotorsonline.com for your motor. I've dealt with Steve and hes an awsome guy.
-Dont stress, it'll all work out. Hell, I had just turned 18 when I did my swap and I did it with help from one friend who was only there for extra muscle.
