Swapping Heads

I have a 90 si with the stock d16a6 in it. Well I also just bought a d16y8 and was told by many people if I don't want to swap the whole engine just yet Just swap the head from the y8 on the a6 and i will receive better compression more horsepower and If i wire it correctly VTEC? Is this a good idea for now until my block goes cause I don't really wanna swap the complete engine just yet??

I would swap the head rather than the whole engine. Its a mini-me. It will give you a lil more power in the end if done correctly.

Thats what I think i will do for now. although the block has 200,000 on it. But then again the lady I bought the car from was 50 years old. She was the only owner. Bought it new. So I don't think she was racing around in it. How hard will it be to wire the vtec??? Can anyone help explain that to me??
