does it matter what axles I use in the car if i use a different tranny than stock- i.e I want to use a b16 tranny out of a del sol- but the stock axles should work no matter what b series tranny i use- right?
 
Just use the stock axles. all the b series trannys use the same number of splines on the differentials and hubs, someone correct me if i'm wrong. The only time you would need different custom axles would be if you were swapping a non-bseries engine & tranny into your car. ie. if you swapped an h22 with an h-series tranny into your teg, you would need custom axles.
