Hey does anyone know what kind of crx they are using in the Honda Tuning budget boost. Its in the august issue with the red civic type R on the cover. I know that they were using an Hf manifold but were they using an Si engine? Also in the second part of budget boost how many horses did they get out of building the bottom end with new rods, pistons and engine work? I know that after they put the turbo on the car it dyno'd at like 160 but i wonder what it is at now. would it be over 200?

Yes, it was an SI motor, D16A6. It dynoed at 170 hp and 168 ft lbs. with the budget setup but I dont know what it dynoed at with the new setup. It could very well be over 200 depending on how much boost they were planning on running. I have seen some d16s dyno at 200 while running 10 psi so it just depends. D16s are so damn torquey though. The D16 with 10 psi i saw was putting down 195 ft lbs. Gotta love that 90 mm stroke!
