tranny question

Is there a way to tell a gsr/b16 tranny apart from an ls? I'm not sure if the tranny I got with my swap is a true b16. All it says is ysk 1

the YSK-1 refers to the year of the case
could be a cable B16 tranny from an OBD-0 B16A

i thought somebody figured out how to tell by rotating the input shaft, and seeing how much the axle turns in a certain gear..
somebody find it, lol

It is a cable tranny.

yes it is a cable i have the same one in my crx and they come from the 89-90 da j spec models

only real way to tell is to drive it or take it apart and check out the gears.

My B16 with an LS trans was soooo slow. I'm sure you could tell if it had long or short gears.
