transmission upgrades???

hey guys, im in the middle of building a turbo ls/vtec and am putting a itr transmission in the car, is the trans going to be strong enough to handle the power out put? i know ill need a good clutch,just wondering about the gears/syncros?? any help would be great.thx

wouldnt rlly worry about the gears and stuff..just run a good transmission fluid.

What is your power goal?

For transmission fluids avoid synthetic unless it's specifically intended for synchromesh transmissions. I personally prefer Amsoil or Pennzoil w/ Friction modifier. The newer MTF seems very watery compared to the older formula(probably to improve MPG?).

soo....... i got another question for you guys then..... the engine i have is a b18a1,but the trans is from a type r, 1997 i think. so would i just order a clutch for the type r trans and a flywheel for a b18a? or are all the flywheels the same?

i like ACT for clutches... have had great luck with them... no complaints

flywheels are the same

Action and Competition are also very good clutches.
