trouble shifting into reverse

every time shift to reverse it doesn't shift it make a grindding noise, but sometimes it shift right what can i fix

there is really nothing to fix... just line the gears up first by pushing the shifter up into 3rd before you shift to reverse

that should do it

i always shift into first before reverse, works every time.

If it's grinding while actually reversing; could mean the "fork" that positions the reverse gear is bent or worn. This damage occurs when people try to force it into reverse gear.
