Loolong at a civic with a D16z6 that's tuned at 230hp on stock internals. I'd read around that 200 is as far as it should be pushed on stock internals, so my question is, would I be okay to just turn down the boost to retard the hp? Sorry if it's a dumb question, just never played with anything turbo.

no, you'd need to re-tune it ta that psi.

if it's been TUNED to 230, its probably pretty safe. try to get a dyno plot with a/f

after initial tip-in, steady/flat, and under 12:1. mid 11's to 12 is ideal

something like this.

a/f is the thinner line (scale at right ) on the bottom

230 on a stock D series internals is safe as long as the tune is good. I would get it retuned just to be safe. And make sure it has ARP head studs.

Thanks for your input, but I am sure he has probably decided on whether or not to buy the car by now. This thread is over four months old.

4 months is what I see. But you're right...he probably made his decision.
