I was at a honda shop the other day, i was just buying and exhaust stud because i broke mine off when i put the new headers on. And well he want to know if the VIN started with a 1 of a J,
J=Japan
1=USA

i asked with if there would be any differences because of this and he just kinda beat around the bush. I have been wondering about this for a while, i was wondering what the differences are, and can i still put a JDM in my accord if it has a 1 on the VIN, and vise versa?

thanks in advance!

peace

Yes, you can do it no problem. The starting place has to do with where the car was assembled, not where it was sold. JDM cars/engines don't have a VIN.

And it won't matter when buying a stud or most any other part whether the engine is USDM or JDM.
