We just got a new Dell XPS notebook at work for Boss's wife. She wants to connect it to our wireless network (Windows XP, Linksys router). Thing is, it has Windows Vista on it, and I can't get it to connect. When i go to "connect to" it says "windows cannot find any networks" But, when I go to "manage wireless networks" I can see all the networks in the neihborhood, but there is no option to connect. I manually set up a network config. with our SSID and WEP password, our SSID is set as the preferred network, set to connect automatically when it's in range, but windows will NOT connect. I right click the wireless icon in the taskbar, select "switch to", our SSID is there, but when I click it, nothing happens. I have a help reference manual book, but it was written to generically cover Dell's with XP and Vista, so it's like trying to overhaul a 747 with a Haynes/Chilton manual. Any ideas on what my problem is?
