Vtec question

I have a 2004 civic LX, it has a D17A1 engine and it doesn't have a vtec system.
I want to know if I can put a vtec system on the engine.
if a can, what I need to do it? B)

go to the dealer and buy the SI!

putting on a v tech system isnt as easy as just bolting on a v tech solenoid, ive never done it on that year car but im sure it would come down to gettin the head off an SI and wirign it all up.

Or not... It's my understanding that any D series from an EG or EK won't bolt up to a D series from an EP.

It's not just as easy as "just bolting on a vtech solenoid" anyway.

and it's VTEC.
