vtec swap wont rev more than 1000rpm? please help me im going crazy

    ok so i have a zc block with a 1.6 head.
    i swaped everything it all fell into place great car started fine, ran fine redlined at 7.4. dosent vtec make it revv to 8000 rpms? not sure,
    but main question is:
    tha car ran fine for a while like 3 weeks no vtec kicking.
    then it would rev to 5000 only.
    then now it wont rev more than 1000 rpms it will if i press tha gas slow it will rev to 3grand then i let off it will go only up too 1000 even pressing slow
    tha motor gets really hot really fast but it reads that tha motor is not over heating but tha motor is really hot. ok so i have swaped intake manifolds cuz tha one i had was for a 1.5 so i got tha right one same thing.
    i changed dizzys wouldnt even start dizzy bad. my dizzy that i have on it is broken, but it starts tha car fine, its broken by dizzy cap screw so it dosent close all tha way and tha timming is dead on (checked with timming light) idk what else to do dose any one know please im need my car running it has 180 when i put tha compression tested on it in tha frist cylinder. another thing when i took tha dizzy out i noticed metal shavings when some oil spilled out, ive alos changed injectors all of them idk what else to do will someone please help me on any ideas, anything will help

    ok. but dont u think if minw was bad it wouldnt start?

    lol well i figured somethign out today it wont start,
    u know when you put a battery in and turn tha key on, it will prime the injectors.
    well its not doing that so im assuming tha fuel pump is bad
    im going to check the relay is bad, but if tha fuel pump is going out will it make it not rev more than 1000 rpms? i hope this is tha prolbem what dou think?

    it can also if you have a dizzy going bad it will start but only go to 1000 rpm

    im gonna try to get tha fuel pump in a few hours its 430 in tha morning now so ill try to get it round 9 then throw it on and see what happens,
    so if tha dizzy is going bad tha timming will still be cool like dead on. and it wont throw it off at all?

    if your timeing was dead on to start with then yes a bad dizzy wont hurt that

    oh i didnt know that i figured it would through it off ok well heres tha thing i got tha fuel pump changed it nothign happended, i stasrted checking fuses. ha tha ecu fuse was poped.
    chenged it,
    then i also got a new dizzy well its not mine i still need one but im barrowing it and started it fucker fired right up. ran good wiht open headers.
    i put tha cat and muffler back on and started it again and it wouldnt revv good at all. so im assuming my cat is clogged not good cuz im drivving with open headers in cail it wont be long till i get a ticket.
    im gonna weld a stright pipe in tha morning im still not sure if vtec is kicking in i herd that tha 1.6 is a weak vtec and u really cant hear it or feel it. is that true?
    or what aonther way i cna be for sure its kickin?

    ok well i went out racing tha other night i was talking to a friend and 5 mins later i had bout 6 people under my hood and there were checking it out and found tha coolant temptaure sensor wasnt pluged in all tha way and tha vtec wire was broken i guess they fucked with it for bout 15 mins and then told me to tkae it for a drive ta see if it runs better and it redlined at 7800 rpms and i was so relived finally then on my way home i hit some bumbs and tha check engine light came back on so and it redlined at 6500 again so im gonna check it out in tha morning and call him up maybe if i cant figure it out again thank you guys very much

    well now its running, and when i hit redline tha check engine light will blink like tis wants to come on but wont, i figure bad ground.
    but my main prolbem is it has a hard time at idle i figure timming right?
    i have another dizzy on it, my main consern is it sucking up gas like crazy
    its putting a big dent in my wallet with how much gas i waste. i can smell gas when im driving i dont think that im supposed too cuz with tha other engine i didnt smell it. do u think maybe i have a leak? or is that normal? and when im tlaking wasting gas i mean have to put gas 2-3 times a day and before i would have to put gas like 1 every 2-3 days.

    do u have any ideas?
