My d16y8 went bad in my 96 EX and just doing a direct swap with good one and want to replace the oem mounts. I'm not plannin on turboing just keepin close to stock. Any suggests and direction?
go with intake headers and a bigger throttle body and that should give you some pep in that motor...ect... p.s. i got alot of y-8 parts if you need some let me know at josetowing@hotmail.com thx,bro
My old setup was a supercharged gsr swap with window welded mounts. It worked great. I never tore a mount, and the engine didn't translate nearly the vibration into the cabin as my current setup with Hasports does.
Energy suspension makes "Motor Mount Inserts" (install into existing mounts) that will reset your engine to the right location and will firm them up nicely.. Highly recommended, I've used them in 2 different hondas with great results. Mounts are much firmer and wheel hop is greatly reduced.
If you are not looking to spend the money for Innovative or Hasport then definitely go with the Energy suspension inserts. They are under $50 and work well.
