I was wondering what the best ecu is for a gsr engine that has a b16 head swapped onto it. Also I heard that it is possible for a dx ecu to be chipped to run the engine is this true?

Yes you can chip the dx ecu to run it, it's all in the fuel maps that are programmed into the ecu that make a difference. I think to run vtec off of a dx ecu, you have to get hondata to add that extra circuitry to the non-vtec ecu. Just chipping it won't get you vtec, but don't quote me on that, I may be wrong. I am not great with electronics.
 
So is it better to use a gsr ecu or a b16 ecu? The engine is an obd1 gsr engine with a jdm obd1 b16 head. What ecu would perform the best on this setup?
