what motor should i use?

ok i have a hook up. my buddy is a dealer and we go to salvage auctions and i picked up a 91 crx for 150. every month i see at least 5 integras go off. im just wondering what engine i should go for. im soo confused i dont plan on turbo, just swap and minor bolt on mods.

why are you against a turbo application?

stock motor b18b's and a little custom turbo kit can come to about a grand total of somewhere near 3 grand, and you can make over 300 whp on stock internals

i didnt wanna turbo becuase i wanted to keep the price to a minimum. i just want a decent quick car, nothing extremely fast. i just know the 1.5 hf engine is gonna be slow and gutless.

really you could go for any B series but personally, i'd rather get a B18a/b than a B16. One thing that'd be pretty cool in there is a B20z. More horsepower and torque than an LS and with simple basic bolt ons, it'd be pretty quick, reliable, and cheap.
