what should i do with my b18c1?

i got in a accident with my gsr and the bottom of the block where the mount on the driverside bolts on to has little crack in it and the threds where the bolt goes in is screwed up. one of the axles are bent and my powersteering pump and waterpump are destroyed. i have a 93 dx coupe and i cant decide on what to do. i would rather have the b18c1 but i konw if its fixable people say that it can be welded but i dont know if that is good.

Inspect the motor and do a cost analysis versus rebuilding the motor or buying a B18b.


If your tranny and head are in good condition this might be a time to get the bottom rebuilt with strong internals for future anticipation of producing hp via either motor or boost.

I don't know if it is possable but buy a b18b block and transfer everything over....just a thought...

if it can be welded a weld is stronger than what is being welded and a b18c is better than a b18b unless you go with the b18b and swap the cylinder head then you will have more touqre than the b18c
