SRS under most conditions just can't get it "right". There are a few exceptions, live mixes for example. If I am not listening to 5.1 I set the processor to normal good ol 2 channel.

I was thinking it was better for the stagers because 3 inch speakers don't leave a gaping hole like, say, a pair of 6.5's or 6x9's.
 
Anything that isn't non-localizable--is that a word?--bass (which could reach 100-120hz if you minimize rattles and harmonics, which are the real problem *breath*) is going to melt away a soundstage.
 
12's have a much better sound in my opinion. They're good for all kinds of music :p
