will jdm ecu work with usdm h22a-1 engine

i'm trying to upgrade my ecu and i think it would be easier if i just bought a jdm ecu cause you can't find usdm upgraded ecu for usdm h22a-1, i just want to see if a jdm ecu will work on my h22a-1 engine with no programming hassles

What do you mean "upgrade" your ECU? If you're talking about chipping and tuning, then you'd probably be no better off with the JDM version of the Prelude computer than the one you already have. The P13 is just not a great ECU for tuning.

I'd look into either getting a piggyback (Apex'i VAFC or whatever), or getting yourself a chipped P28 and load it with a Prelude map and then go from there.

get a p28 or p72 phreable ecu, a JDM ecu is actually a downgrade...
