Wtb-b16a or b18a motors

im looking to buy a b16a dohc vtec or b18a dohc vtec motor for under a grand.. im in the chicago land arer.

Maybe a B16A long block only for under a grand but I wouldn't trust any B18C (not B18A....thats obd0 non-vtec) that was sold for a grand or less. they go for around $1500-1800 but you might get lucky. I would say you'd probably get a lemon for that price. Maybe a JDM B16A for less then a grand but then it needs to be shipped and blah blah blah after you actually get it ready to put it in (YES you need to spend money on maitainence unless you wish to blow the motor).

Tisi is not a cheap venture but I wish you the best of luck. You could get lucky.
