I expect the murder rate of unborn children and nuns to drop to negative one hundred

I'm still curious exactly what the fuck they were trying to accomplish by openly wearing unarmed side arms and provoking confrontation.
So now because of the actions of a few gun owners wanting to display their pieces in public, now the state says ah fuck it, lets keep records on ALL gun purchases. Nice little curve ball they threw in there. Next they will start printing the names of all the gun owners in the local papers so people know exactly who to rob. (it happened)

This has already happened. A teacher in Oregon was involved in a situation that prompted the local news paper to file a FOIA to see if any other teachers in Oregon where licensed to conceal and carry. Luckily it was slapped down but it got way farther than I thought it should have.

Washington and Oregon are receiving more and more California transplants and they are bringing their sense of right with them. I have taken a lot more time with folks who are interested in firearms and our second amendment in general so when this kind of legislation is proposed here it has a slightly better chance of being slapped down.

In this case the federal government has an obligation to intercede on this obvious infringement of 2nd amendment rights. It doesn't get any more cut and dry. You can't read the second amendment and this legislation and conclude that they are in agreement. If this doesn't get overturned, it's a dark day for America and for the principles on which it was founded.

I know in Michigan you can carry a loaded firearm in the open with the exception of bars, churches, and government offices. I assumed it was the same everywhere due to the 2nd amendment.

Weve actually gone the other way. Apparently the sheeple are frightened by a tool so most states require you to cover the scary things up.

I agree with this, but if you read the bill of rights, I don't think you'll get through all 10 without finding some sort of infringement on each one. States say they have the authority to regulate handguns because it is not specifically governed by the Fed.
I think all gun and explosive laws should be thrown out based upon the 2nd amendment. The 2nd amendment was put in place to protect the people from tyrannical government, among other things. The only way for the people to retain power would be for them to have EQUAL rights for self defense weapons as the US gov't does for offensive weapons. As it stands now, its very much a David vs goliath situation.
Tides are turning in this country. The right is denouncing the protesters as a bunch of pot smoking socialist/communist hippies. The left denounces the tea party as a bunch of NRA gun toting racists. How cleverly they divide to conquer. The one common denominator that everyone appears to be missing is that no matter which side you are one, left or right, people are pissed at the government in general, and the situation in the US.
back to your point, take a look at all the states who make people jump through hoops for their fucking right to bear arms? NY is a prime example for this.

does anyone see an except after infringed?
shall not be infringed... except when its an automatic weapon
shall not be infringed... except when its a handgun
shall not be infringed... except when its a concealable weapon

powers not specifically delegated by the constitution are reserved to the states OR THE PEOPLE
seems to me that the right to bear arms is delegated by the constitution and its amendments, and not reserved for the states.

Which effectively bans hand gun ownership. I'm surprised a relatively rural farm state like that has any carry laws. I would expect it within Chicago city limits but not in the corn fields...

Chicago controls Illinois since the overwhelming majority of its citizens are there or in the suburbs. :( In Chicago proper you couldnt even own a handgun until recently. It was a big deal, the Supreme court overruled but they're still finding little dickish ways of making it incredibly difficult.

As for the rest of us in IL, we can keep them in our house but can only transport them from there while unloaded and in a locked container.

    better than NY
you can't own, or even touch a handgun without a permit, and said gun's serial number being on your permit.
nyc has way too much influence over the rest of the state, similar to chitown vs IL
