If I were ever to get ink'd, the location of the tat would have to be discrete enough that the appearance would not hold myself back in a business setting.

The last thing I need is to have to overcome more biases from an older generation that is not so in touch with the dealings of younger generations.

With that said, I have always wanted a tattoo but I was never able to commit. I've been thinking "no regrets" in tiny text (gothic) on my ankle or somewhere else to serve as a permanent reminder to live both for the moment and myself.

Well said. I obviously won't want it to hamper getting a job in an office setting, my piercings have been in for a while so taking them out is done out of respect and no one can really tell I have my tongue pierced. I once forgot and no one noticed for 6 months that I even had it. As for the tattoo, I don't want it in a visible area mainly because I think it looks tacky. I'd want it somewhere private, because to me, the tattoo is very personal in and of itself. I want it for myself, not to show off. I think your idea is great. It's not what it looks like or where it is, it's what it symbolizes to you and what it brings back to you.

all of my tats are easily covered. i mainly wear long sleeved button ups. so im all covered. two have meaning, one was the best i saw when i first turned 18. i like it though. and i still have alot of work to do, have 3 now, want only 1 total.

I have 4 total my first one was the 45 symbol for Djing in the middle of my should blades, the second was my family crest on my right arm, the third is a cross with a crown on my right ribcage (Yes it felt good) and finally my masterpiece in progress on my left arm about a half sleeve, the outline was done awhile ago and then last Wednesday I went to fill in the background now for my final appoinment whenever it may be I have to fill in the characters, its basically a hot rod theme with japanese waves and clouds, I have a skull with 2 checkered flags crossed, a piston on the back of my arm and a tach on my shoulder basically, it looks sick as &*^%. Werd tattoos rule. :D

i have alot of them and i'm learning the trade as well. there not for everyone and to each there own! i have my arms, back, legs, feet, hands and starting my chest soon, hopefully one day i'll have my bodysuit done:D$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have 3. My first one on my right shoulder blade is the symbol for the formation of yin and yang (looks more like a swirl) with a bagua surrounding it. My second is the ancient Roman symbol called chi-rho on the inside of my right bicep. My 3rd has undergone 3 sittings so far and is the native flower to Chile called Copihue (5 flowers total), stretching from my right arm where the deltoid connects to the bicep up over the top of my shoulder and connects to the one on my blade. Hidden in the vines across my shoulder bone is the word "Urrutia" which is my grandmother's last name, from my Basque heritage. I have plans for a calligraphy tatto down my right rib cage (Calesta might remember this) that will say "Hear the sound of wind and water", with waves splashing across the bottom and up around one side, and wind gusts blowing across the top and down on the other side.

i have a full sleeve and quarter of my back done. prolly start my chest soon or my other arm, havent decided. i know what they are gonna be, just not the order that im getting them :p

Going on friday to get my first ink.

I'm not sure if I have told anyone, but my uncle died last year. He was a huge part in my life, and I carry his last name as my middle name. It's a name to proud of, and many of you probably know it as most are east coast guys. Gannett.

If anyone here follows tattoo artists or shops, I'm going to Slave to the Needle, run by Aaron Bell. Raphaela, a famous artist from italy is going to be in town, and I some how booked her to do the name piece on my back. It's not old english, but gothic love letters, with a background.

So siked.

japanese half sleeve elbow up to the shoulder
full side piece on the left side
1/2 inch spacers in the ears

bump for rib tattoos

I have none. Not that I'm against them, I just haven't found anything that I would want on my body for the rest of my life.

Agreed, same here. I can't think of anything I wouldn't possibly want to change later on. That new erasable ink that's supposed to be permanent until you hit it with a special laser sounds cool because of that.

4 in each ear, right nostril, tongue, navel, nipples, and vertical clitoral hood.

Pics? C'mon now, you just asked for that. :D

Their old H will always mean Honda to me, that's all that matters.

Ya, the old-style wide H would be neat for a tattoo.

I begged and pleaded with a friend not to get 'Some Way' on one wrist and 'Some How' on the other wrist in big black letters for that very reason, but to no avail... Now every time he shakes hands or gives a contract to a client they stick out.

I got one on my left leg.
It's Aeris Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII.

Next one I get will prolly be the AF logo if I decide to switch job fields (which is looking to be of good interest atm)
