Yeah, I worked in a John Deere shop a while back, so I would think I would know a thing or two about carbs, but no. My rebuild kit will be here tomorrow, and the ignition system will come in several shipments over the next couple of days. Thanks for the input too. I will keep everyone updated.

I have an '03 EX-5spd. It has a K24 as someone stated. I also get around 22-24 mpg average, but thats probably due to the bull bar on the front, I could possibly pull off 26 without it.

Check all your electrical connections. I pulled a connection on my '03 element while cleaning the engine and it threw codes for the TPS. Also, might be a good idea to put some WD-40 or some of that connector grease on them too, even if it's not the problem. It could just be a loose connection...

Okay, after closer review, the b18b is a bare block. Nothing with it. I think this would be great for a build from the inside out. Yes? That way I know what is inside and that it will perform up to spec. More questions, pending I do get this block...what brands should I look for in pistons...
