is there a way to tell on the actual ecu if it is obd1 or obd2? cereal number?

Which one performs best, most power, most reliability, etc.? I have heard a lot about them recently, and I have done much seaching and have come up sorta short. Has anyone done these swaps (I know have done b16 w/ b20 block). what about with a b18 head? Power wise and bolt-on upgrades wise...

I Bought my car with a swap in it. it has an "Erick's Racing" chipped p28 ecu in it and it has a jdm obd-1 b16a, but p28 is for sohc vtec, am i still ok? and what is the differences between obd-1, obd-2, etc. is there a website i can just read about them that anyone knows about? thanks.
