my y8 was doing that and i took the iac off and cleaned it....it had a spot of rust on it now .....no more surging.

here is my set-up 98 full y8 motor not a mini-me (no vtec hooked up till i get the jumper harness) 88 zc internals pushing 12:1 compression 8lb flywheel and stage 2 proclutch and pressure plate. spend the extra money and get the zc internals i.e. pistons, rods, crank and crank pulley...
